photo of the day — Friday, March 14

Matt showed up at 6:40 with sushi and a “Happy Pie Day!”  I will make a pie for the first person who leaves a comment explaining why today is “pie” day.  It’s my first liz blog giveaway!  Someone at work told Matt about this, and it’s definitely going to be a new family tradition….

held to celebrate the mathematical constant (pi). Pi Day is observed on March 14 due to pi being equal to roughly 3.14. Sometimes it is celebrated on March 14 at 1:59 p.m. (commonly known as Pi Minute).

That’s pretty clever…given you are a math major and all!

If I win, just pay my pie forward to someone who lives near you… because I live far away, and what are you going to do. Mail me a pie!

Yes indeed, it’s Pi Day . . . the reason I was making a cherry pie at 11:00 last night for a certain Sixth Grader to take to school!

That’s fun that other people celebrate Pi day too. Every year my kids take a mini pie to their teacher for Pi day. In fact sorry Trina because Spencer was the one who told Mr. Strange about our Pi day thus resulting in us having the pleasure of sending pie to school.

Kate suggested you send the pie to this location ASAP….and while you’re here I can trade you Scouting for Food bags.

Ummmmm….I am reading this for the first time not realizing I am missing out on valuable holiday festivities. I never turn down a pie! And….maybe this is why my girls came home from preschool humming a song about pies.
